Disclosure. We sell the Hiring Snapshot. This is an honest comparison — Loxo is a legitimately good product for a specific shape of recruiting firm.
TL;DR
- Pick the Hiring Snapshot if you want recruiting + marketing automation in one stack, you don’t already have a sourcing-AI investment, or your recruiters work both candidate side and employer side.
- Pick Loxo if your bottleneck is sourcing (not communication or BD), you live inside LinkedIn Recruiter, or you want the most sophisticated AI sourcing intelligence available today.

Where each tool’s strength lives
Loxo’s strength is sourcing. Their AI-driven sourcing intelligence (talent graph, predictive scoring, intent signals) is genuinely excellent. If sourcing high-quality candidates from cold is your hardest problem, Loxo’s AI sourcing layer is worth the price.
The Hiring Snapshot’s strength is the workflow once a candidate is in your system. Pipeline management, two-way SMS, employer portals, lifecycle nurture, automated billing, referral programs — the snapshot is a more complete operational system for running a recruiting business.
They’re complementary, not strictly competitive. Some firms run both — Loxo for sourcing, the snapshot for everything downstream.
Feature-by-feature
AI sourcing. Loxo dominates. The snapshot has lightweight candidate enrichment but isn’t an AI sourcing engine.
Pipeline & ATS. Roughly comparable. Both have stage-based pipelines, scorecards, and auto-promotion rules.
Communication. Snapshot wins. GHL’s two-way SMS infrastructure is significantly more capable than Loxo’s messaging layer for high-volume agencies.
Marketing automation. Snapshot wins decisively. Lifecycle nurture, drip campaigns, A/B-tested email, AI content generation — Loxo doesn’t really play in this space.
Employer portal. Snapshot wins. Loxo’s client-facing layer is functional but minimal.
Billing & payroll. Roughly comparable for placement-fee billing. Neither replaces a full back-office system.
Integrations. Loxo has more native ATS / job-board integrations. The snapshot has GHL’s broader app marketplace (1,000+ apps).
Where Loxo is the better choice
- Cold sourcing-heavy agencies where 60%+ of revenue comes from sourcing candidates who weren’t already in your network
- Executive search firms that need maximum candidate-discovery intelligence
- Firms with existing AI investments that integrate well with Loxo’s data layer
Where the Hiring Snapshot is the better choice
- Agencies where the bottleneck is communication, not sourcing — i.e., you have candidates in your pipeline but can’t move them through fast enough
- Marketing-driven recruiting — lifecycle nurture, content marketing, referral programs
- High-volume staffing (per-diem healthcare, blue-collar, contract) where SMS infrastructure matters
- Firms that want one platform for recruiting, marketing, billing, and lifecycle
The honest verdict
If your single biggest problem is “we can’t source enough great candidates from cold” — try Loxo first. Their AI sourcing layer is a real differentiator.
If your biggest problem is “we have candidates but our workflow leaks them” — the Hiring Snapshot is the right answer.
For some firms, the answer is both — but if you’re choosing one, identify which problem is bigger.
